A Fishy Problem

Did you know that the world’s storm water problem is causing fish and other stream and river life to die? This happens when we dump wastes into our storm water drains. These wastes dumped into them flow down the pipes and out into the rivers and streams. The river and stream life eat it up and die.
We can fix this problem by thinking before we dump something down the storm water drain, like pesticides, oil, fertilizers, and paint. We will help you “think before you do” by holding an event of putting stickers on the storm drains that remind us not to. They say, “No dumping, drains to stream.”

“We need volunteers of all ages to help us. Sign up at this weekend’s Halloween Party (Saturday, October 31st) or email the Westbury Board at board@westburyhoa.org. We’ll plan on Saturday, November 7th at 10am, meeting at the pool parking lot”, says board member Roger Borrello. We all at Westbury Life hope that you will come and attend.
